I found out today that my favorite local fly shop is closing by the end of March. The staff there are always helpful and well informed, which has been helpful to me as I try to figure out those bows and browns on the Clinch. The saddest part of this whole story is that I find out through another blogger in California. He mostly looked at it from the business side of the story, which I am aware of, a man cannot stay in business if he isn't making money.
I will miss the Creel.

That stinks! we lost our best fly shop in Charleston, WV a few years ago for the same reasons. It would be nice if a person could make a living off something like a fly shop, so that we could have the convenience. Maybe, when I am retired, and don't really need the money, that is what I'll do!
As bad as I hate to say it he didn't try to keep up vary well. Tom Chandler noted on his blog the Little River Outfitters in Townsend Tn., which is out in the middle of nowhere, is doing vary well, and they are definitely not a box store. I believe it all has to do with weather you are prepared to keep up with the times. Like I said in my post I will really miss the personal touch that came with the Creel. I hate to see them go though.
